I don't understand why some people choose to paddle their Hobie out through the surf rather than using the mirage drive. Having the ability to maintain momentum through slop/chop/surf is a strong attribute of the mirage drive that does not get the credit it deserves.
Its a shame that Hobie didn't take the opportunity to tweak the Adventure / Revo 16 design. Having a more functional / accessible front hatch would be my first request. Still the Adventure / Revo 16 is an excellent offshore fishing kayak. There would need to be tricky launch conditions to convince me to pull my Stealth off the roof racks instead of my Adventure when chasing tuna offshore.
