Just standing around.

Post by Gozz »

I took the kids out for a paddle today and just before we where to leave I thought I'd stand up and see how stable my little ebay kayak was.
I paddled around a bit standing up and stayed dry.

I was pretty impressed with the stability but unfortunately it takes away from speed cause it's a fairly wide kayak.

Lets see you do it in a 2 mt swell down at Lorne :) na only jokeing Gozz, but it does amaze me how stable yaks can be ,for example just recently down at clifton springs my hobie seat kept coming out of its sockets and in frustration I spun around side saddle and put it back in its spot ,mind you I was 3 ks offshore and halfway through the presedure the thought came to mind if the yaks tips you are an idiot  all good in the end so you can put a bit of trust in your yaks stabilty

cheers cruiser

Yeah it's funny cause I had a kingfisher before this kayak and though it was faster and a much better sea boat but it wasn't as stable, I couldn't stand up in it.
Saying that the kingie was more then stable enough.
