Nice neat job mate. Like the secondary use of the rod tubes under the bottom kayak

Wouldn't mind setting up a trailer for mine to save loading/unloading all the time but what with my car, the wifes car, 3 daughters with their cars and a caravan I'm a bit short on room.

Well we are not to sure about thay yet, but we are going to head to vic roads to find out. Id say we have to get it checked and regestered though. Pretty happy with it. The bottom yak slides on a treat. Makes life alot easier.

Good luck at Vic roads, i told them the regulations. You WILL need to register it, just register it as a boat trailer and then you can have overhang and be allowed to park in boat ramp parking if you desire. I suggest you download a copy of the trailer pack regs on the Vic roads website.

Looks good and also love the use of the tubes.
Apart from the central location of the racks, I am not sure why most seem too extend the rear, and not the draw bar where you will get better towing/travel/reversing weight advantages?

I do not know for sure, but my understanding is, now with the amount of length at the rear that you have, you will have to register as a boat trailer (which is not a bad thing), as a normal "box trailer" is not allowed to be a certain % beyond the axle at the rear. You are also (as Bilby said) not allowed to park a box trailer at "boat trailer" parking bays at the boat ramps, even with a parking ticket. Only boat trailers are accepted.
When we say it's BIG RED SEASON, we don't mean a big red blood stain on the bay,

Happy Sailing Fishing and keep blowing bubbles.
