camper trailer

Post by cheaterparts »

With this the end of this year being a pain to fish so many W/Es and so much wind I finally got around to building a camper trailer - I had bought a S/H soft floor camper tent a couple of years back but in my slackness it has sat around waiting for me

It needed to be long enough to chuck my fishing ski on so the basic trailer is 3.7 meters long with a 1.65 meter draw bar
while gathering up stuff to build this I picked up a 2.3 kva Onan generator that is hard bolted inside it's own box
I also picked up a hot water service to run a shower and of cause heat up water an at demand LPG thing

I got the tent sitting on a partly bolted up yesterday
I would have got that finished but head out to buy a battery ( 98 AH AGM ) for it and have a Ctek DC to Dc charger ordered to kept that full and will wire up to run a solar panel though that as well

I still have to mount up water tanks but plan to have at least 150 litres on board so as to run a shower

So thats my camper

Looks great Cheater!
If you want a 100ah agm battery I have one I don’t need, has been barely used. It's at work at the moment, I'm back after the 8th.

Cheers,

Andrew

Pretty nice work, did you build it from the frame up or work with an existing frame?

the trailer is all brand new , just the tent second hand -- since the pics the tent has been fitted and more gear sourced - I got it to Vic Roads yesterday so now has rego

so I have somewhere to sleep for the NSC 2018 and some things wont be done before Portland - I still have to fit water tanks 2 x 70 litre and I have some wiring to do ( DC to Dc charger and some 240 volt wiring ) and to fit up the generator

I still have to make a folding kayak trailer to fit the camper and have it booked in for a new better fitting tent cover but after Portland

the trailer tows really well and is simple to back being nice and long -
