Another DIY Trailer Build.

Post by dno »

Thought I'd share my trailer build. Wanted a trailer wide enough to carry both my Cobra fish & dive and the mrs's mini X at the same time and not too high, although being new to the yak seen it hasn't taken me too long to find out carrying a boat on top of the 4wd sucks big time.
Here's a few pics of the build so far.

The front and rear racks are removeable and with the addition of a foot to each leg, will allow me to use the racks to store the yaks in the shed. Leaving me with a flat trailer which I have other plans for including the later addition of a removeable rail for a dirtbike and a removeable mesh cage to carry camping gear.

The build to date, painted and wired also got my VIN today.

Thanks for looking.

Looks mint, trailers are so easy to build it's not even funny. Just a heap of RHS welded together with a set of springs, tyres and an axle :D

I rekon the best bit is, you can almost buy a premade trailer for the cost of materials and parts these days!!

True but you only get what you pay for, quaility and custom requirements still costs extra.

That hay's been a throrn in my side that long it's not funny, managed to a couple hundred into a new shed I built this year, giving me a bit of extra room to work.
Still don't sleep well some nights tho. lol

100% agree, you can go by a stock standard 6x4 box trailer for $450. But by the time you modify it you are far better of starting from scratch if you know what you are doing!

A couple of upto date pics, I'd like to add a freshwater tank and a small pump behind the axle sometime in the future.
