Transformer trailer, more then meets the eye.

Hey fellers.
What do you do if you want to use a 6x4 trailer for home use and transporting a kayak. :?:
You make a extendable draw bar. :yahoo:

Next I'm making a frame so I can sit another PA14 on top of mine and the rust will be ground back and repainted.
Getting there but still allot of work to go.

Well done Gozz.

I'm looking to do similar with my trailer soon. Out of interest what size SHS did you use for the bar sections?

Hi Shane.
I went 75 x 75mm x 4mm wall thickness for the outside diameter and 65 x 65mm x4mm for the inside tube which slides in and out.
It's pretty heavy but doesn't move even with a 100kg bouncing on it extended out.

I'm going to have 2 PA14's side by side which will be sitting on top of some of those 65mm orange underground pvc pipes which have a pretty thick wall thickness and seem pretty rigid.
I'm also welding a "T" bar where the two smaller V draw bars meet the large draw bar where I'm going to sit the PVC pipes.

Thanks fat joe.

I got a heap done after work today and its almost finished.
Just needs pool noodle over the bars and a few anchor points to tie the two pa's down.
The bars are fully removable and I can slide one to the centre if going solo.
I reckon a out back would also fit.
