Hi All
my name is Lou and have been following this forum for sometime now
i have recently bought a pro rider 3.7 from AWS in Geelong and very happy so far.
my cousin and i go out to Altona to do some fishing and thought i would buy Garmin 4dv fish finder,
after installing it we went out and it showed nothing not even the meter depth, I cut out some foam pad siliconed that to the base
and rather that filling the cavity with clear silicon i just put it on the insides edge. I repositioned it yesterday to the middle and and filled the cavity
of the foam housing with silicon and pressed it in. whilst on a stand i switched it on and set it up from factory setting agin and it now shows fish along the bottom of the screen but still no meter or feet depth and the setting show its on.
am i doing something wrong ????
any advice is appreciated
cheers

First thing I will be doing is resetting to factory default. Then go through the setup wizard again as by default will be in Ft not meters.

Transducer wont show anything if hull is out of water. As long as there are no air bubbles between transducer and hull it should work once on the water, assuming wiring contacts to head unit are fine, which they should be as its new.

"Foam pad, siliconed to the base?" Base of the transducer?
If so foam contains air, lose the foam pad!

By the sounds of it you have probably sorted out the problem, you will just have to get it on the water to read properly as it wont read anything up on a stand.
