Re: Launching and keeping dry / winter fishing
To keep my hands warm I work on being slightly too warm, hence blood flow will be redirected to the extremities to give off heat (simultaneously keeping your extremities warm). I believe there is a saying 'If your feet are cold then put on a hat' - there is very valid science behind this saying. Of course you can get gloves to help, but I always find they interfere with fishing. Also if your core is not warm then there will not be much blood flow (heat) going to your extremities for the gloves to keep in. In winter beanies are awesome, as most of your warmth is otherwise lost through your head. So maybe in the case of winter kayaking you could modify the saying - 'If your hands are cold then put on a beanie'. Physiology at its finest!

Any gloves have to be able to let you tie knots, not get trebles stuck in them and put up with a good soaking of bait juices and squid ink.
Gloves are most important for paddlers

Because us peddlers can just hold onto our hot cup of coffee instead while eating toasted sandwich
Live long, fish hard and hopefully catch something.

waving your hands through the air when paddling. peddlers have them down by their side, and can even sit on them just trimming rudder as required.cheaterparts wrote:why ?laneends wrote:Gloves are most important for paddlers
