Geelong Vyak Dinner 4th Sept

Post by Bretty »

Tonight Chris and I headed to Buckleys Entertainment Center for a counter meal.

We both had a Parmy, chips and a pot for $15ea.
Well the Parmy was that good we thought we better have a fortnightly Wednesday meal and invite the Geelong and surrounding's Vyak members along to meet some fellow yakkers and the melbourne guys if they feel like a drive.

So were heading back to Buckleys on the 4th of September about 7pm everyone is welcome the more the merrier

Was a good feed  The parmy was bloody massive too, reckon it was a whole boned chook on a plate with just as many chips.

I couldnt think of anything witty or funny to say and didnt really want to post my PB fish from the yak cause all I manage to get are toadies so I thought I'd take the time to fill in the blank space and say pretty much absolutely nothing and annoy every-one who has taken the time to read this.

Great to be part of the CBD yakkers who kicked off the original 'social dining' thing last year with the CBD lunch so it's terrific to see Ghurkin's got dinner happening in Mornington and Bretty firing things up in Geelong   so it only leaves 1 question...........Where are we doing brekky?????

I think a brekky down the mud pond may be the go.

These are actually great way to meet like minded people and friends have a chat and few drinks......its like a fishing club IMO without any crap fees

Actually, vyak members have had social dining meets since it's inception. The early meets were at the Chelsea Heights Hotel in 2010. That venue being chosen because it was central to most members.

It did kind of fizzle out though which was a shame. They're a good thing. Mid week city lunches are difficult for most to attend, so it's good to see some after hours dinners happening.

I should be able to make it to Geelong Bretty. For once the date doesn't conflict with my shift.

Chris and I were thinking if we made it for around 7-7:30ish that would give people a bit of time to knock off work and get down there.

Hey Skip we got there around 7:30 it was pretty quiet in the bar if we get a few of us it wouldent hurt to book a table.
The bistro had a fair few people but most were there for Bingo night
You can even sit outside in the smoking area and eat its all undercover with some great heaters for the cold nights and even Tv 's and a Tab booth
