Police Helicopter and upurned kayak @ Mornington

Postby maverick » 15 Jan 2018, 09:32

Just drove to work past Fishies Beach and the Police helicopter is hovering over an upside down orange/yellow kayak about 200m offshore, just south of Fishies Beach. No idea if it is a fishing kayak or whether it has just broken loose and drifted there from Mt Martha.
Well past the edge, almost at the point of no return.

There's nothing in vicpol media releases so far. https://www.vicpolicenews.com.au/news
Let's hope that's because whatever happened is not newsworthy but you have to thin Police helicopters would not normally go out to find kayaks that broke loose.
