I have to commend you Charles for owning up mate, like others have said don't be scared to ask for help I'd say most on here would gladly pull up lines to assist.
S#!^ happens and sometimes you get cought with your pants down but good on you for setting it straight.
Gotta look after each other on the water and I'm glad you weren't just fishing stealth.

Tight lines all.

just did a reminder post recently -- http://www.vyak.net/forum/viewtopic.php ... ts#p245611 as I rewire my nav lights every season and wiring through the hull
start of snapper season is a good time to do it as most don't get out much over winter and the wiring normaly festers away - from now on a lot get out ether early or stay on that hot bite longer

good you got back in safe - one thing in your favour there's very little boat traffic around Grantville to use you for a speed bump
My kayak PBs

One of the reasons I run my lights independently of the yak battery.
Well past the edge, almost at the point of no return.

Another good reason to carry a torch by law.
I keep one of these which self activates if it falls into the water plus the back lights up quite bright so it can be used if you get stuck in the dark (as an emergency).
Used mine once last year while out doing an arvo session but it started getting dark heading in so I just held it up as I pedaled (it has stretch cord so it could be tied to your light/flag pole).
