If you get separated from your yak like the bloke off Wilsons Prom in Nov last year how does an Epitb help???
Have both. PLB is a man overboard application. eg ocean racers would have epirb for vessel and each crew member with PLB

:up: sounds good, my epirb needs new batteries to keep it legal, PLB is still good :)
I thought I read on Maritime Australia site that one shouldn't deploy both Epirb & PLB, is that correct?

I guess you shouldn't do it without real cause as it could cause confusion. But if you had activated an EPIRB, then subsequently got separated than its quite reasonable

If your EPIRB is attached to you it will still work it is water proof and designed to float and operate floating on the water
