Lake Wendouree Rowing Lanes

Post by ratfish »

Just a heads up for anyone fishing the lake, they've got some new signage at a few points on the lake now, stopping or drifting in the rowing lanes is no longer allowed - haven't heard of anyone being booked for it but probably best not to be the first.

Most people bait fishing tend to pull into the reeds just outside of the rowing lanes so I'd assume that should still be OK. I rarely ever see anyone drifting or anchored in the actual lanes but can see how it would be an annoyance for the odd rower or paddler training along the lanes. The majority of people fishing the lanes are usually trolling and a little bit of courtesy and awareness avoids any incidents.
