Finally got out in my yak, just a quick trip off Blackrock flicking lures for Flathead and well what ever else would take the bait.

After a quick tweak to a sticky rudder I had a nice morning on the Bay even managed a couple of fish,a flathead to 42 cm and squid to make a nice dinner.
I landed a few of these, look like a Mario Wrasse, but not sure.

I was just good to be back on the water.. I think I will hit Altona for some Snapper next..

Red mullet
Taste good, very soft flesh. Dont attempt to fillet, simmer in a sauce whole, dont try to fry and flip they disintegrate

They are quite a common by catch on sps. I know them by "goat fish" or "red mullet". I believe they are from the wrasse family. Good to see you make it onto the water.
Pb: snapper 67cm, garfish 44cm, calamari hood 25cm

I can hear what your saying about improving core temperature and upper body strength.
However for me I don't paddle.....I pedel.
I have a Slayer 10.
I will just have to get fit some other way! :D
