Paddlefield 1st full episode

Post by Yakass »

First full episode of Paddlefield is now live. Sub-titled 'Expeditions' this clip covers the ambitious kayak fishing expeditions that I embarked on last year. Some great action in this clip, starring myself, Carl, Holger, Paulo, Rhett, Shep, Mack & Longtail tuna, Trevally and Marlin. Episode 2 will have a uniquely Victorian flavour :-)

You'll need 22 mins to watch the full thing, so grab a cuppa or crack a beer and enjoy!

Glad y'all enjoyed it. It was fun making it, even though a hell of a lot of work into it, both on the water and in front of the screen editing

I'll be trying, believe me. Mind you, I haven't been overly encouraged since returning, and I base that on the total lack of feedback on off-shore fishing from kayakers here. Seems almost everyone is settled on PPB or Western Port, and very few guys actually head off shore into the ocean. I'm scratching my head to figure out why to be honest, because I'm convinced thats where the best fish will be, and also because its actually more comfy off shore than it is in PPB a lot of the time. Swell is much easier to deal with when nicely spaced apart, and in semi-enclosed waters, if a swell gets up it usually turns to washing machine conditions pretty quickly. Also a lot less clowns in stinkboats!

So the offshore kayak fishing scene in Vic seems almost non-existent right now and I'm pretty sure thats why I never hear of kingies being caught on kayaks in Vic (for example). But maybe I'm missing something... maybe its a wasteland out there. But I'm betting its not and am willing to try and prove it :-)
