Bretty, I have seen 60FPS vids on youtube before, but video doesn't need to be that fast usually. 30FPS will do... in fact, I actually publish at 25fps, but will always record at 60FPS if possible. This makes slow-motion oh so much better. If you slow down footage that is 60FPS by 50%, it still comes out at 30FPS, and thus still smooth to the human eye. Framey slow-mo looks crap. Smooth slo-mo looks great. I also output at 720p, but happily use footage shot at 1080p if I can get away with it.

Maverick, you're recording in plain old 4:3 aspect ratio there and not 16:9 widescreen. I'm willing to bet your cams are at their default setting of 480p. You'll get better results at 720 or 1020p.

The clip "Rigging a stinger hook" Pete, I'm interested in those rod holders. Is that your yak in that clip and if so do you mind if I ask where you got those rod holders please?

I've flush mounted a couple of holders in my tinny at the rear for trolling but I have nowhere for conventional holders to mount to on the sides. Those look they may have been remade with thicker bottom sections to fit the yak?? I'm looking at something like that to fit or modify to fit, into my rowlocks on the boat.

If I can find something like that then it's gonna save more radical alterations to the boat.

Hey Digger, the rod holders in the clip you are talking about are just standard Berkley Rod Holders. I did put an aluminum backing plate inside the hull.

Haven't seen them at BCF as yet and that's about the main place for boating bits in Bairnsdale. Now you have pointed the way I'll check out the Berkley site and see if they are suitable.

Mine came from BCF. One is the quick release version, the other is the standard style. I find the quick release is the better of the 2 as it handles rods with short butts better (best rod in a kayak is one with a short butt). Just remember to insert the rod holders into the bases and then reverse the direction that they point, so you don't accidentally pull the holder out out and drop it over the side.
