Re: Comp Rules and Guide.
the pairs are drawn out of a hat - so its luck who get paired with whomattyp wrote: So if pairing up it would be an advantage to pair with someone who targets different species to yourself to get the most species measured correct?
If so is it two separate comps or are the pairs competing directly against solos?
and the good thing about this kind of comp is that make you look at targeting other fish
and as its run over a year not just one w/e every one has a chance to get out and compete

Re: Comp Rules and Guide.
Carp are definately included, would love to see a few more of those things gone!!
As has been said the choice is yours to team up or not, it will be random who you get as a partner.
I guess it may be an advantage being a team but I'm sure we can wrangle up prizes for both best team and solo.
Perhaps we should just pair up everyone to keep the playing field even or else ditch the pairs idea and only go solo.?
We thought that the pairs may fish together and encourage members to mingle a bit.

Re: Comp Rules and Guide.
The pairs is a good idea however many of us are worried about dragging our team mates down. In my case I really can't get down to the bay very often so I'll be mainly fishing local water and I'm certainly not likely to be breaking any records. Also I don't have access to as wide a variety of fish as the guys that get onto the salt water do so I wont really be too competitive.
Still will be fun to participate though and hopefully get a few pics up of some decent fish.
Cheers,
Jim

Re: Comp Rules and Guide.
How are garfish to be measured? I know some fishing clubs measure them from the upper jaw to the tip of the tail. Ie the beak is not included. (See http://www.dpiw.tas.gov.au/inter.nsf/We ... YB2L3?open for an example.)
