Resurrect an old favourite

I just thought I would share this 'new' product that can bring back some life to an old favourite lure.
It's called jigskinz. http://www.motackle.com.au/jigskinz.html
We all have a lure that we go back to in desperate times.
The action is there but over the years they have little or no paint left.
No idea how durable these are, just putting it out there.
At about $4-5 per lure, it seems reasonable.
I find that by the time I get to the specials bin or table the only colours left are the ones no one wants!
Now you can get any colour and rehash to suit.
Motackle has these, and I presume others have them as well.

Any one tried these?

Erik

I have a few I got off ebay. Some of the fish ones don't line up too well but the slimey mackerel is a favourite of mine. If you use a hair dryer to shrink one side more you can get the fish pattern cover most of the lure. I've also used the squid on a big stickbait but it hasn't scored a kingy or tuna yet.

Personally I can't see the advantage this brings over custom painting lures

Fortunately those who are gifted are willing to repaint for a fee...

The main advantage I find over repainting is you get a strong, durable good looking finish without needing to apply epoxy clear top coats etc. It won't suit all lures but it's a handy way to resurrect an old lure.

x2 for the slimy pattern

Thanks for the reminder, I'd forgotten I had these, they sat in Shane's tackle box for a while and I have't tried them out since I got them back. I'm not sure if he caught anything with them, but they look the part so they should catch fishos at least. I'll have to try them in anger some of these days
