I feel oblidged to reply, so here it is.

This all sounds corporate + sponsor driven and an idea by people trying to make a buck.

To me this doesn't seem admin driven (correct me if i am wrong) considering you guys don't have the time, so let the guys that are pushing this do it themselves and save yourselves from all the stress and bullshit.
Strip vyak back to its basic's and lets just have the old BBQ style meets and greets and go fishing!
We are removing the sponsors, comps and everything else do you really think we are trying to make a quick buck?
It would be wise to keep these aspects if we wanted to make a quick buck, no?
An association must be not for profit which is what I suggested, read the link.

Your last sentence says it all and that’s what this is, stripping it back to basics.
No flash, no cash and no liability.

Over the last few weeks Tipsta and i have had numerous conversations re a comp for 2013 in the last few weeks he has/had secured numerous sponsors that were on board and offering great support, even to the point where a fully fitted out kayak was a prize. I hope we have not lost Tipsta from vyak over what looked to be a really good move forward..

vikodin i guess only admin can answer the question of where this has come from and i think they did in the first few posts..
Why Tipsta has resigned? Ask him!
He was organizing all of this stuff (which we put him on to do) and then we the rest of the admin (yes we vote on decisions to make it fair) decided to go in the other direction and stop the comps and sponsors, prizes, no money changing hands, etc.

Whether it was Tipsta leaving because his position was redundant or because we were stuffing him around waiting to make the best decision I don’t know, you will have to ask him.
Yes I feel bad for Tipsta and I had told him this over the phone as we had only just put him on to do a job and then we tied his hands up as we weren’t sure about it all and wanted to protect our ass’s.
As he left he brought it out into the open and everyone was confused, so I am putting it all out in the open to clear it up.

You have all the facts right there…. Don’t speculate about hidden agenda’s.
Yes we wont get our big comps with big prizes and all the flash, that’s a shame but I will sleep better at night not having to stress about someone taking me for everything.

It didn’t have to go this way, we were going to wind back slowly and announce this after the Mudbrothers comp, but I was forced to give answers when Tipsta out of the blue resigned and left confusion with everyone.
So your answers are here and in my original post, all the truth and not some made up bullshit covering up a conspiracy.

I back the admin / moderators 100%.

This is an internet messageboard not a club.

If there are some who wish to have a Kayak Fishing Club, let them go through the legal process of setting up a not-for-profit affiliated club with all the trimmings.

I, for one, am a member of another fishing club and join in their competitions but I also enjoy the 'yak meetings' that occur from time to time. Prizes, why?

I just want to make my position clear for everyone.

If there is an association/club, I won't be part of it. I won't be on the committee and I won't be a member. I won't even help set it up.
I fish to relax. I couldn't give a toss about clubs, competitions or prizes.

I was put on the admin team to moderate the forum and that's all I want (and offer) to do.
