Arrow Squid vs Calamari - any difference on the plate?

Hi guys,
I caught my first arrow squid last week and when cleaning it I noticed a couple of difference from the calamari that I usually catch:
1: The tube/body flesh seemed much tougher than the calamari
2: The 'backbone' or pen was much smaller and narrower than the calamari
The mother-in-law cooked it up today (stir-fried with snow-peas) and I was expecting it to be quite rubbery, but I was quite
surprised at how tender it was - better than calamari?
Has anyone else noticed any differences, or prefer one to eat, over the other?
Cheers,
Mike.
