I don't agree, even though mine has its own spot in the shed, has a cover so the birds don't crap on it, gets washed and polished, and a regular greasing, must be something to do with the orange paint..

No, fair enough and probably most people wouldn't agree with me either but I've always had cars supplied by employers and they have merely been a tool to me.

Yeah I suspect that orange paint gets in your blood Iain, and you've reminded me that i've also got to get a cartridge compressor operated grease gun as I'm sick of mucking around with grease guns that are unreliable and messy.

I have huge variety of jobs here and it seems they will finally get done, that's why I'm so excited!

We have a boggy section of driveway that needs fixing, will take about three hours of digging out and filling, when this rain stops and I have a day off.
Can't seem to get the two to coincide.

We're as dry as hell here though 15 mm on Friday/Sat helps, but things are dying off and the dam is right down!

Need to wash the car right?

We have a 5 acre dam, wasn't there a week ago, should take the yak out and see what I can catch.
Never had a dam before but the creek at the back of us has flooded and is proving too much for the drains which are about a metre deep and three metres wide, it's a lot of water and at the moment the sun is shining.
Unfortunately on my way to work so no digging today or tomorrow, if I did I suspect I may lose the tractor in the mud.

Couldn't resit the $39 p[rice on Dinga. Arrived today.

Very solid and smooth. This is it compared to the Quantum Iron 25 I picked up last week:

Stripped down my PA14 pending arrival of new hull. A little sad but what must be must be.

Decided to get a trailer as well. Just barely fits in the garage man-cave.

Now comes the fun bit of re-fitting all my custom stuff

(Just to be clear: Glenn of Action Kayak and Sail offered to take the old one away, strip it and re-fit everything on the new one at no charge - I declined as I prefer to do stuff like this myself, so it's my choice to DIY. It makes maintaining the kayak easier in the long term if I know how everything is put together and where all the wires etc are run.)

Here's my original thread covering why the hull was replaced.

 to both Action Kayak and Hobie for customer service on this.

Looks like an awesome yak. Being new to yak fishing l have a long list of to buy and make, some great design in the threads, lights, wheels and so on also some useful ideas and links. Once I've made bought all the need to do/have stuff i might start saving for an upgrade to something more suitable as im hooked lol.
I do have a question regarding lights, l was looking at one of the ledlight sites and they have a 600mm to 1m long light bar flat on one side l was thinking about using one to make a light to hang over the side at night to attract squid and alike, any ideas?
