There are the odd schools all along the Vic coast atm.
I was talking to one of the local cray-boat operators last week and he saw some off Cape Schank and also off the south coast of the Island.
Mike.

A Cape Patterson launch is on my to tick off list. Had a look at the beach ramp a while ago. Very rocky but protected and doable. Pity you have to travel a few K in every direction to get out of the marine park.
What distance out and depth were the bluefin spotted.

Tas. The marine park starts about 1km to the left of the ramp, and goes roughly to eagles nest.
Yellow sign on the bluff indicates the start of the park. I think it goes 2km out. Theres maps at thw boat ramp and also saw one at eagles nest

Cape Patto is a good launch spot - easy to get an AI on the water. Pretty protected in all but direct onshore.
Can get very busy during weekends/good weather though.
The BFs I heard of were about 3kms out in about 50-60m...
