G'day all. Just bought a fishing kayak. First watercraft I've owned. Can't wait to get out and not catch anything (if my land based fishing record has anything to go by).
Didn't want to spend a huge amount of money as I'm never going to be taking it that seriously so settled on a modestly priced Malibu X-Caliber which seems to get good reviews from the few out there.
Toughest decisions now will be whether to spend my leisure time in the bush 4x4ing of on the water Definitely interested in kayak camping at some point.
G'day from Melbourne!

Welcome Conan,
Since you are new to watercraft have a read of the safety section.
A few Vyakers are also in to 4x4ing
You will see posts from time to time in the fishing trips threads of people going kayak camping.
Most will welcome other Vyakers to join them.

Welcome and no reason not to combine the whole lot. Camp, 4x4 and kayaking sounds like a reasonable weekend to me. Enjoy and stay safe.
