Ok just a small update on the build
I got the printed forms glued up on some 12 mm MDF these were cut out and sanded up
these also had a rectangular hole cut in then along the centre line and with the lower edge on the water line
these have been threaded onto a 75 x 50 x 2 mm steel section that makes up the strong back
I have to make up some 238 mm spacers ( 16 of them ) and 1 adjustable to pack the forms out at the right spacings
I've picked up a small band saw to cut my strips up on so a couple of tables and a long fence to hold the planks true will be on the agenda
same as I have to order some Paulownia ( wood )
so progress is being made

Good stuff Cheater, I'm sure there is a joke in there somewhere about 'following' this build

the strong back is almost finished I had a bit of time this afternoon so got the bow section bolted on and through the week I made up spacers to go between the forms
just have to finish off the adjustable centre spacer and trim any that aren't quite the right length

got the adjustable spacer made today - this tightens all the forms up on the strong back nicely - so next step is to make up a stand to work on then all the forms will get a final line up ( water line and centre lines ) a final tighten and it's ready for strips
Paulownia ( wood ) is ordered and should be on it's way down next week from Coffs Harbour
I also picked up a small wood shoulder plane that has been on order for a while - this measures 1/4 inch wide ( 6.35 mm ) and 2 1/2 inches long - I have to make up a bevel guild to fit it into to make fitting the strips tighter and quicker , that will be cut out of some aluminium
so it's still happening slowly
