Re: cheater mk 2.4 strip build
Well it's not quite finished but a small paddle was had this evening at Patto as you will note the hatch lids are not fitted ( I duck taped up the rear hatch thinking that may see water flow over it )
as It was the boat floated nicely and basically at the right water line - the primary stability is fine and the secondary stability is really good it's far better than I thought it may have been with the bottom being as round as it is
with just a small adjustment on the rudder pedals Myself and Eoin headed off for a 5 km paddle and we turn the GPS on for the return leg
9 + kph is a fairly easy cruise speed and we did a little sprint hitting 12.6 kph
the hull leaves little to no wake and very little bow wave
not sure what speeds I'll be able to carry though long events but a bit of practice will show that in the near future
the rudder works well although I will change the rudder pedals a bit to make it more comfortable - hatch lids need to be fitted and some more sanding before a clear coat can be done
keener than ever to get it finished - it's looks as if it will be a bit of a weapon for the sea kayak class on paddle days

no - but I will chuck it on the scales but it at a guess will be under 20 kg - it's fairly light to carryGaley wrote:Well done mate, any idea what it weighs Cheater?
