I used to drag my yak regularly about 7-800 meters to the beach and it was a fair hike when you took account of a couple of hills along the way. I set up a second hobie trolley with a set of hard rubber pneumatic wheel barrow style tyres and this made a huge difference. If you are building a second scupper trolley I would recommend you set it higher up and to balance the weight of heavier items near and to the rear of the axle point. Testing it out with a good set of tyres may be the first step in deciding how far you want to go with plan B or C.

Here is a beach wheel castor Jim should not be to hard to mount some way.
A urethane v block from a boat would sit nice on the bow with a strap to tie down.
A person would need to ealk that back home surely....leaving a fully laden yak unattended?
When all else fails........read the instructions!
Studies have shown that people who have more Birthdays tend to live longer...

I have to drag my A.I. about 400m to and from the beach each time I launch - 190m on sealed road, 180m on dirt road and 30m on soft sand.

I have the Hobie Trax2-30 cart and find it goes okay. When my arm starts to feel a bit stretched, I just rest the front of the yak on the ground
and take a breather.

I was looking at the option of a castor-wheel in the Mirage-slot too. Some bright-spark over on the Hobie forums had a T.I. and did just that
looked a very nice setup.

Since the Revo is far lighter than an A.I./T.I. I reckon a castor in the mirage slot is the way to go. Very unlikely that it'd put and undue stress
on the mirage slot.

Cheers,

Mike.

It's only the castor wheel and bracket that clamps onto the box tube Andrew not the whole frame, it's a revo so not to heavy.
Also have a look for the AI tray cart supports Jim they may have a similar hull profile to the Revo if you are worried about the scuppers.
