Fitted my new MG stainless cranks today. Not much difference other than they are about 20 mm longer which made pedaling with the Flow Fin quite easy and no apparent side effects. Hopefully it will prevent any crank breakages in the future, due to the alloy corroding. Which always seem to occur at the most inappropriate time.
Easy enough to replace the originals, only took a couple of minutes and it is a good opportunity to check all the other mirage drive components.

Re: Stainless Mirage drive pedal cranks.
Marto's cranks look the business. The slightly longer cranks are a definite advantage and i find it hard to go back to shorter cranks after a couple of years with the long. I recently made up a new set using 1.6mm 316 (1.2mm previous) that should be more durable. Making your own isn't an easy task so it's handy that Marto is making them.

Hey
Just thought I'd post some more info about the ones I've just made. They are all 316 and 20mm longer. Made from 1.6mm wall. I've reamed the tube so the pedals are a press fit like in the aluminium hobie ones.
Here is a photo and if anyone wants some more info feel free to contact me.

Re: Stainless Mirage drive pedal cranks.
Are they a drop-in replacement? (ie: no farting around drilling, etc)
I'm also curious why they're 20mm longer than the standard ones?
What's the damage per pair? ($$$)
Mike.

Re: Stainless Mirage drive pedal cranks.
Just plug and play - remove the old one, swap the bits and bolt it back in. No holes. You need a centre punch to knock out the old pedal (pretty simple) a small allen key for the grub screw and a unusual size allen key for the pedal retaining bolt. Martyn is sourcing these to go with the crank kits. I can't answer the extra 20 mm question but I like it.

Hey Mike
Made them 20mm longer from testing them earlier and makes it slightly easier to pedal. The lengths hadn't changed since the new seats so this was worth a shot.
They are $120 for the pair.
Let me know if I can help you with anything else!
