Where can i find 40mm PVC cross?

Post by Joshua »

I am looking for this
But I can't find them anywhere in stores.
Bunnings don't sell any Cross Tee's and Masters only has 20 and 25mm
Making a rocket launcher that goes behind the seat and holds my lights. Any plumbers/knowledgeable people know where to get them from? (Other than that 1 last one available on eBay)

Thanks! Josh.

Plumbers supplies like Reece often carry a bigger range than the general hardware stores. You just need to know what to ask for half the time.

Hey Joshua;
Unless you're pushed for space/height, try x2 T's stacked on top of each other.
Just a small piece of tube between and it should work fine.

Hey Eric, you got any pictures of what you're talking about?
I'm finding it hard to imagine how it would work...

Have a look a Shane's rod holder setup Joshua, on a PA that's the style I'd go for. The one you are looking at would make it harder to re-enter from the back of the yak. I'll try to find you some pics of it when I get to a computer, there's a thread about his set up on here somewhere .

This thread explains the style of rocket launcher that I use:

http://www.vyak.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=39&t=19470

I'd strongly suggest going down this route instead of the image you linked. You need clear space at the rear to re-enter a PA plus having a live-well or eski on the back needs clear access free of rods. My rocket launcher is in 2 pieces but is very quick and easy to install and remove and takes up much less boot or storage space off the yak. I also have it set up with an extra rod holder on each side by use of a tee piece in the upright. A more recent modification is to use a tee instead of an elbow to connect the rear of the three holders. This allows very long rod butts to sit down all the way. Also take not of the slots for the reel stems to sit into to stop the rods twisting. This slot can also be cut in an L shape so the rod drops down and rotates to lock in so that it won't fall straight out when inverted.

Otherwise if you want to do similar to the linked picture then just use a tee piece pointing up and use a hole saw to drill a hole through the other side for the rod butt to pass through.

Agree, I copied Shane's, and wouldn't consider anything different, easy setup and removal and very practice.
