My cousin was throwing out a damaged Alvey reel that had a chip on the edge of the spool. Not wanting it to go to waste I repaired it with bog and coated it the with 5min araldite to seal and strengthen it.
I then cable tied it to a piece of polly that fits snugly into the side rod holder for easy removal so now I have a down rigger that I will never use
I think its a good idea so I thought I would share it.
The reel in the post is simaler to the one I used. I cant show you mine because it will be Patented as a standed fitting that go's with my wheely bin yaks
