On the way home from a 4wd trip to Big Desert National Park, my dad and I made a detour to Hamilton to check out a 2012 PA14 and upgrade from my Terrapin XL Since it would be too straining to car top the PA on the landcruiser, one with a trailer was a must.
I took it for a quick 45 minute peddle at a local lake to familiarise myself with it, and I am VERY pleased with my purchase!
It already has a few additions to it like two ram rod holders, two Berkeley rod holders and a sounder, although I will be transferring my elite 4 to the PA, just waiting on a ram mount. I have also swapped the wide standard (non vantage upgrade) seat for a boat seat. Looking faward to carefully planning and building it up

Wow, I can't remember seeing a 2012 PA so clean. You need to give it a good soaking it in squid ink and fish blood.

I think it was a very lucky find, the previous owner never took it in the salt and believed the one before him didn't either. There's barely any scratches underneath either so it feels like it's almost a new 2012 hull. Hopefully I'll be getting some trout and Redfin slime on it this morning I am really looking faward to those longer sessions being more comfortable.shane wrote:Wow, I can't remember seeing a 2012 PA so clean. Did you do a post on your rear pvc rod holder set up at all? I've searched for it as I like how the centre of your back well is clear but couldn't find it

Nice buy Tim.
Even though Hobies keep their value, you would have saved quite a bit of coin getting a 2nd hand 2012 model that looks like new.
