Re: New Stealth Fusion 480
Thanks Ian! I figure the best course is hire one on the next trip up north and see if it fits me OK first. No use spending 2-3k on something I'm only using for 4 weeks a year unless I know it's what I want. Yeah I'll definitely keep at least the outback. I wouldn't mind upgrading the AI to the 2015+...

Rear overhang is permitted if the trailer is constructed for the purpose of transporting a glider or water-sport devices (Yachts, rowing shells, surf skis, canoes and kayaks) (Victorian Government Gazette No. S S2 2017 - Exemption certain class O vehicles from rear overhang limits) So if your trail...

Re: DIY Fishing Projects
I started making a few stick baits earlier this year. I've only had one chance to use them but the kings weren't there on the day. If you have basic tools it's really much easier than you'd think. Marling Baits on youtube is where I learnt from. Here's a 110mm suspending stick bait that I planned to...

Re: New Stealth Fusion 480
As far as speed is concerned it comes down to how far you are looking to travel. The other plus of course is that you have the option of river running if you ever want, with the overstern rudder option My family and I love doing east coast road trips and we plan on continuing to do them at least on...

Re: New Stealth Fusion 480
They certainly are attractive at that price point. I've certainly considered one, although I'm not a huge fan of the shared hull space. The storage hatch being independently sealed is in my view one of the major draw cards for the stealth. I'm keen to see what the speed difference is between the gla...

Re: A stranger in the night
Been watching some youtube vids of late and one from Rokkit Kit, from February mods to his new carbon fiber stealth, which made me think of this post in regards to the discussion on mounting the transducer, Ron (i think thats his name) has done a very nice job mounting his under the yak and running...

Re: What if you fish WPB and fall out?
His mate was already on the shore when he fell in, so he was no more help than any other bystander. With the weather the way it was there was no way he was going back out.

Gummies and snapper aren't even worth the swim to shore let alone your life.

Re: First fishing kayak
Hey Ben, Welcome :) That will be fine for PPB, just ,make sure you follow the weather report closely and have all the safety gear (Life jacket, waterproof phone case) Also it is very much worth it to take your kayak out without any gear and practive flipping the kayak and re entering on the water, i...
