Re: Advice On A Kayak Westernport
A second hand Hobie Outback may fit into your price range. Nothing wrong with a pedal yak. It will hold its price. I had a couple of cheap paddle yaks first, worked out more expensive than buying a new Hobie in the long run. Buying a second hand Hobie, should hold it's value and you will have way m...

Glad it worked out for you Paul. Those wind changes can be unpredictable especially with rain squalls.

Re: Broken Outback rudder lift
Tie the cord to some mono first and then pass the mono through the tubes and hole, then pull the cord through. On the older revo you need the dismantle the rudder assembly and wind the cord in the correct direction before tying off. Clockwise and Anti Clockwise for up and down cords, cannot remember...

Congrats on the AI. Impressive armada of kayaks in your collection. Have you still got the 13 and 16?. The stainless aka pins are a no brainer for me. There is some good discussion here somewhere on the pros and cons of the stainless pins. Basically avoiding a serious failure of the akas at sea vers...

Nice purchase Dave, hopefully will be able to deal with the leak issue. Would be curious to know how it handles the offshore conditions. If the borders open you need to try to make it a bit further than Portland and see if we can catch a couple of snaps off PI.

Re: Keel Guard
We have 2016 outbacks that have had a scrape on the tip of the rear keel. Has anyone bought or made a keel guard as I can see over time this could become a problem. Thanks Yes it can be a problem. I wore out the keel on the revo a few years ago. All the way through. Don't be lazy like me and use a ...

Re: Any suggestions for Fishing from Cowes at Phillip Island
You can launch from the Cowes yacht club carpark or the Cowes Anderson Rd boat ramp. Lots of little paths down many of the beach roads if you want to roll your kayak from your accom. Just go for a walk and check them out first. If you troll a soft plastic or a lure close to shore you are a good chan...

[ The other method that works on mackerel is dead bait rigs. The video below is how to make my favourite rig, but again I can show you how to do these. Evenings tend to ne group rigging sessions anyway. Just make sure you bring a good headtorch as the lighting around the houses rigging table is not...
