I used to peddle out without any flag, reading this soon after join the forum put a bit DIY, I put a safety flag on a homemade flag on an old rusty metal pole, wrapped it with a lot waterproof led strip and cover the rest of pole with carbon fiber sticker

I have a suggestion, make it compulsory for every boat skipper sits on(in) a kayak for 3 hours on water near a busy ramp for example, patterson lake, altona during a snapper season Saturday before they can get their licence

Thanks for sharing the story, vikodin, snapper season coming, safety is really the first thing that every yaker should have a look good before hitting the water.
