Re: Fly tying

Nice work they look good. Couple of suggestions, try not having as much thread down the hook shank and after tying the eyes and light coloured tail material turn the hook upside down and tie in the darker overwing closer to the hook eye (hook eye side of the dumbbell eyes). You can tie in crystal f...

Fly tying

I've been tying a few red tag's for trout fly fishing. I've now moved to tying salt water flies ready to flick from the PA. Looking very forward to catching something on one of these. They are my own creations and self taught. http://i1106.photobucket.com/albums/h365/knogg/3B30FD0F-F4B6-4F88-8B8F-EF...

Corey have you seen these? http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=4RAanTC52IU&feature=youtu.be&desktop_uri=%2Fwatch%3Fv%3D4RAanTC52IU%26feature%3Dyoutu.be 4RAanTC52IU Never used one but looks like it might work in the yak whilst standing. That is very impressive. But it looks really easy which makes ...

Re: Gopro footage, Fly Fishing Big River

I have recently started fly fishing. Had a go in the Hobie ai at inverloch. Have not landed a fish yet but had a lot of fun. Now just need this south gippy wind to pi*#off so I can give it another go. Good work. Thanks for watching. I've got a stripping basket to help now from the yak. I was wrappi...

Gopro footage, Fly Fishing Big River

I've picked up a Fly Rod again after many many years. I forgot how pleasant the sensation of laying that line out far and straight was. I'm setting up for some saltwater sessions too but that technique is a very different ball game and I need a lot more practice for shooting out a #9 sinking line bu...

Re: Who wants to give up smoking..

I was pack a day from 16 to to 26 or so. Tried patches a few times but I just hit a point where I'd had enough about 3.5 years ago and stopped cold turkey. I had a nasty flu at the time and the following week was when that massive tax came in. Never really felt any different in an overall perspectiv...

Re: Fixing a punctured car tyre...

Take the wheel off, and in on its own.

It's for a farm property off road use only they may repair it then.

Re: Barwon River Estuary - Is it safe???

It's a fantastic spot here. I fished for the first time on the Monday of the long weekend. There were a few pro anglers on high tide at lunch. I didn't see them doing much but they were out there. I'd just had lunch at the waterfront hotel. My kayak fishing plans were quashed on Thursday when I put...
