Couldnt think of anything worse than the hull filling with a fair bit of water whilst a km out from shore.[/quote] Not sure mate, never done it. I do remember Shane having issues with his taking in water, but I thin...

Re: Ouback vs Pa12 Yeah i know i know...

I have not tried an outback but have had my PA12 for just over 12 months. I car top it on an X-Trail with ease. I really only take half the weight at any one time so it's not an issue & it's so easy I think I should have taken more of a look at the PA14. I will say on those rough & windy day...

Re: Hi from a newbie kayaker :)

I couldn't recommend the seabird, great sea kayak but a pain to fish from. I just upgraded to a Hobie PA12 and can't believe how much I enjoy fishing again. I would highly recommend sticking with a kayak designed for fishing...

Hope this helps...

Re: Loading yak on ute

Cheap yoga type mats from Kmart, bigw etc do a great job! And you can buy keel strip for kayaks, a lot of the sea kayak guys use. I think you can even get one with Kevlar in it if you are really serious.
